Akuffo Addo is indeed a ‘clearing agent’ – NPP Communicator

Kofi Peprah – Bono regional NPP communication team member

Despite efforts by the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to debunk a tag by his opponents as being a clearing agent, a member of the Bono regional communication team has supported the tag given to the President.

Kofi Peprah a.k.a Double K speaking on Dinpa anopa bosuo show on Dinpa 91.3FM at Sunyani Thursday October 10, 2019 said, Akuffo Addo has cleared the worries and hardships nurses and teacher trainees were going through because of the abolition of their allowances.

He pointed out that ” Akuffo Addo has cleared the Unemployed graduate association with the introduction of the Nation Builders Corp (NaBCO), he has cleared the backlog of nurses who were unemployed during the regime of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), he has paid the debt of GET fund contractors Former President Mahama failed to pay”.

The communicator who is also aspiring to be the Assembly member for the Gyaase electoral area at Chiraa in the Sunyani West district of the Bono region added that, “the President has cleared the Ghc1.2B NHIS debt inherited from the erstwhile Mahama administration.

President Akufo-Addo was tagged as a ‘clearing agent’ by some members of the opposition Nation Democratic Congress (NDC) when they believe he openly announced that his ‘men were clean’ when investigations about corruption were yet to be carried out by Parliament.

General Secretary of the NDC Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has justified that, the Australian visa scandal of which President Akufo-Addo set free then Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Pius Enam Hadzide with the explanation that he was not involved in the visa scandal but failed to expose the culprit after accepting that there was wrongdoing shows that the President is a ‘clearing agent’.

But the President speaking at the Ghana Bar Association 2019 Conference in Takoradi on Monday September 9, refuted the assertions of clearing corrupt appointees.

The President believes such accusations against him are unfounded as the agencies tasked to investigate such cases of corruption do their work without any pressure from the executive arm of government.

But Kofi Peprah who was a panel member on the show defended the tag and noted that, the President does not clear corrupt appointees but has rather cleared the streets of Ghanaian children whose parents could not assist them to further their education to Senior High Schools with the introduction of the Free SHS policy.
